As a Data Scientist, you will help Enterprise Data & Analytics team to analyze and model customer data. You are expected to learn banking processes to help convert data into meaningful insights in partnership with other Data Scientists on our team.
Responsibilities:
Understanding business and data needs Discovering, cleaning, and transforming data as needed Designing and building analytical models Prototyping Performing statistical analyses Providing diagnostic, descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytics Determining opportunities and needs around the use of machine and deep learning for help in prescriptive and predictive analytics, automation, and model training Handling other duties as assignedQualifications:
Working toward BS or MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or other related area of study with an expected graduation date of May 2025 – June 2026 Familiarity with predictive modeling, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms Strong programming skills in Python and SQL Familiarity with data science and machine learning-related libraries in Python (Pandas, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, NumPy, etc.) Familiarity with Generative AI models (LLMs), prompt engineering and RAG/Agentic frameworks is a plus Knowledge or experience with exploratory data analysis, model development and evaluation, data visualization, and presentation of findings Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written along with an understanding of how to present results such that they are meaningful across multiple levels of management Enthusiastic about learning and quickly adapting to new developments in AI/ML. Ability to collaborate and coordinate with multiple teams and team members Ability to manage tasks and timelines to successfully meet project goals and objectives Experience in banking or financial services a plusLocation:
This opportunity is located in our brand-new Zions Technology center. We have a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.
