ING in Asia Pacific

In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 11 markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
ING offers both retail and wholesale banking services in Australia. ING’s regional presence includes a 13% stake in Bank of Beijing, China and a 30% stake in TMBThanachart Bank in Thailand.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING's Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the FIL Team do in ING?


The FIL team is under Transaction Management, which is part of ING’s Wholesale Bank (“WB”) Lending. It is responsible for credit risk analysis, limits/rating reviews and lending origination and documentation for Banks and Non-bank financial institution (“NBFI”) counterparties. Fund Finance (“FF”) and Insurance Sector Finance (“ISF”) are also part of FIL in APAC for Transaction and Portfolio Management activities.

FF supports funds clients with the provision of capital call facilities and other financing solutions. More broadly Fund Finance is a global business for ING, with teams in New York, London, Luxembourg, and Singapore. ISF provides lending and capital solutions to the global insurance and reinsurance industries, with teams in London and Singapore.

What would you be doing?


• Work closely with FIL team to prepare credit analysis, rating reviews for banks and NBFI clients in Asia.
• Support FF and ISF Coverage teams in origination and execution of facilities (including but not limited to capital call facilities, private equity, debt, real estate, and infrastructure funds).
• Portfolio management which includes Customer Due Dilligence and client monitoring.
• Prepare communication for various internal stakeholders including pipeline, transaction status, and other portfolio updates.
• Cooperate closely with other ING teams and assist on ad hoc projects as required.


What qualities and skills are we looking for?


We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria:


Qualification:
• 2nd to final year undergraduate with a demonstrated interest in banking and finance.

Skills & competencies:
• Basic understanding of how a wholesale bank operates and its business model.
• Ability to work within deadlines with limited supervision and a high level of initiative.
• Willingness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and the bank as a whole.
• Ability to communicate clearly with fluent spoken and written English.
• Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
