Intern - Financial Analytics

Cone Health’s Managed Care Contracting (MCC) team is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as a Financial Analytics Intern during the Fall of 2025. MCC is part of Cone Health’s finance department and is responsible for over $1B in annual revenue. MCC provides partnership, strategic counsel, and support services to the entire Cone Health system.

 

The Financial Analytics internship is an intensive opportunity available to incoming undergraduate seniors or first-year MBA students who are looking for dynamic experiences in healthcare finance. During this program, you will be provided with the appropriate level of support and training and you will also have the opportunity to interact with senior leaders.

 

Throughout your time you will work on projects critical to Cone Health’s success. Not only will you be challenged to think differently, you will also have the opportunity to demonstrate strategic insight while applying your financial skills, analytic abilities, and leadership capabilities.

 

We seek candidates with strong academic backgrounds. Individuals who have completed significant coursework in business, economics or mathematics (or other quantitative disciplines) are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be highly motivated, analytical, detail oriented, able to work independently or in teams, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. While this internship will be mostly virtual, there will be potential for onsite meetings with the team. 

 

This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date and orientation on 9/15/25. The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.

Supports finance team with financial reporting, modeling, and analysis

Conducts market research and analyses; Researches medical economic trendsCreates dashboards and other data visualizations for key performance indicatorsProvides information and recommendations to help drive financial decisionsOrganizes findings in a clear and structured manner and internally present those findingsPerforms other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

 

 

EDUCATION:

Incoming undergraduate seniors or first-year MBA students

Preferred Majors: Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Health Care AdministrationMinimum 3.0 GPA

 

EXPERIENCE:Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel Pivots, VLOOKUPs and Advanced Formulas)Knowledge of SQL Server (desired, not required)Proficiency in Tableau or Power BI (desired, not required)Demonstrated problem solving, analytic, financial, and evaluative skillsAttention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframeAbility to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholdersWork well with limited oversight and under ambiguityAction-oriented, self-starter with a strong learning focusExperience with healthcare finance or healthcare economics (desired, not required)
