Intern - Financial Planning & Project Management

Cone Health’s Financial Planning team is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as a Financial Planning Project Management Intern during the summer of 2025. The Financial Planning Team is responsible for the financial planning process, including long-term   financial planning, capital planning and business planning. Financial Planning also supports the enterprise Fueling our Future and Margin True North Metric teams.

 

The Financial Planning Program Management summer internship is an intensive opportunity available for qualified canidates who are looking for dynamic experiences in healthcare project management. During this program, you will be provided with the appropriate level of support and training, and you will also have the opportunity to interact with senior leaders. Throughout your time you will work on projects critical to Cone Health’s success. Not only will you be challenged to think differently; you will also have the opportunity to demonstrate strategic insight while applying your financial skills, analytic abilities, and leadership capabilities.

 

This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date of June 2, 2025. The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.

 

Interns hired for the summer cohort will be enrolled in Campus Greensboro’s Summer Fellows Program. This is an in-person, professional development training program sponsored by Cone Health.

 

To be considered, candidates must meet at least one of the below criteria:

 

Local College Students: Attendees of local institutions including University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Guilford College, Greensboro College, Guilford Technical Community College, Bennett College, Elon University and School of Law, North Carolina A&T State University.Guilford County High School Graduates: Those who graduated from Guilford County high schools and are now furthering their education outside of Greensboro. First Generation College Students: Students who are the first in their families to attend any college or university.

Provides administrative and operational support for assigned programs related to planning, directing and coordination of activities associated with system-wide improvementCollects and manages program data, such as attendance, outcomes, and feedbackAssist with the creation and organization of training and support materialsPrepares regular reports for leadership, summarizing program outcomes, challenges, and recommendationsDesigns and implement program evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of initiatives.Organizes findings in a clear and structured manner and internally present those findingsPerforms other related duties and responsibilities as assigned 

 

EDUCATION:Incoming undergraduate seniors or first-year MBA studentsPreferred Majors: Business Administration, Systems Engineering, Health Care Administration, Project ManagementMinimum 3.0 GPA

 

EXPERIENCE:

We seek candidates with strong academic backgrounds.  Individuals who have completed significant coursework in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, and System Engineering are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be highly motivated, analytical, detail oriented, able to work independently or in teams, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
