**Position Summary**
RSI is recruiting for a Geoscience Intern who willassist with environmental research and field activities being conducted under the Applied Studies and Technology Educational Collaboration initiative at DOE Office of Legacy Management (DOE LM) sites.

**Location(s):** Grand Junction, CO
**Status:** Full-Time
**FLSA:** Non-Exempt
**Hiring Range:** $18.02 per hour
This position is required to travel 20-30% of the time.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Support the groundwater and geochemistry group with their daily functions as necessary.
+ Conduct literature review and data mining of available well data to support project hydrogeologist.
+ Perform geologic field mapping of outcrops, faults, lineaments, etc. in study area using gps instrumentation.
+ Environmental data collection including water level measurements, transducer installation, and groundwater sampling.
+ Assist in lithologic well logging, solid phase sampling, and general support during monitor well drilling project.
+ Observe and document borehole geophysical acquisition during monitoring well drilling project.
+ Upload water level data and prepare temporal potentiometric surface maps in ESRI ArcPro.
+ Import and interpret collected geospatial data in Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS) for 3D visualization.
+ Develop graphical representations of data that illustrate water level and concentration trends over time.
+ Technical report writing and documentation.
+ Final project presentation delivered to technical managers and groundwater team discussing findings of project and suggested steps forward.
+ Travel to project site in New Mexico with project hydrogeologist as needed for field projects.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 60 credit hours completed prior to start of internship towards a B.S./B.A. in Geology, Hydrology, or related field.
+ No years of relevant experience
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ Valid Driver’s License
**Required Skills and Abilities**
+ Microsoft office including but not limited to Excel and Word and Power Point
+ Competent in ArcGIS Pro
**Clearance and Health Requirements**
+ Criminal Background Check
+ Pre-placement Drug Screening
+ Fit for Duty Test (if applicable)
**Essential Physical Requirements**
Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
