This internship opportunity is a part of the Identity, Product, Loyalty and Research (IPLR) team. As an intern, you will utilize business intuition, project management, excellent communication and a working knowledge of business tools in your day-to-day to contribute to projects that create sustainable revenue and share growth, positive brand reputation shifts, efficiencies and cost savings. You will also champion a small number of key initiatives directly, leveraging strategic thinking, analytical problem solving, and developing your presentation skills. Intern assignments and/or projects will fall in one of the areas below:
· Brand – This team shapes and supports how United is positioned, looks, feels, and sounds as a brand across all customer communication channels and physical environments for both employee and customer-facing spaces.
· Onboard Product Development and Design – This area supports the strategic planning, design and development of critical touchpoints in the overall customer experience onboard all United Airlines flights—aircraft interiors and seats, as well as onboard amenities and partnerships. The team identifies new opportunities through competitive benchmarking, customer data, and market research.
· Research & Insights – This team supports the marketing activities and tracks the performance of United’s brand, products, and communication channels through qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:
· Partnership:
o Collaborate with team members in the IPLR Department on cross-functional projects
o Partner with team members to support Marketing initiatives to innovate and improve business
o Proactively develop strategic and problem-solving skills
· Execute for Results:
o With support, seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions
o Propose solutions to business questions, leveraging strategic thinking and data analysis
o Build, develop and support team tools, including intranet sites, master pages & templates, web parts, content types & policies, lists, libraries, workflows and more
· Project Management:
o Exposure to various project design steps to facilitate innovation
o With manager’s support, manage multiple projects by balancing the competing demands for project scope, time and quality
o Meet regularly with managers and stakeholders to provide status updates on projects

QualificationsWhat’s Needed to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
· Must be a current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a Quantitative discipline (Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, etc.)
· Experience using spreadsheets and graphing information
· Proven experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
· Attention to detail
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future
· Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
· Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
Compensation and benefits information is outlined below. Please note, intern pay rate may differ based on student’s class standing.
The starting rate for this role is $20.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
