As a Perception Engineering Intern, you will focus on improving the robustness and accuracy of our multi-view pose estimation pipeline. Specifically, you will integrate point cloud data into our existing system to enhance performance in cluttered real world industrial environments.
This internship will involve developing and implementing algorithms that leverage point cloud information to improve pose estimation robustness and accuracy. You will also design and build an end-to-end evaluation pipeline to quantify the improvements achieved through your work.
How your work moves the mission forward Enhance the multi-view pose estimation pipeline by integrating point cloud data. Develop and implement algorithms for point cloud-based pose refinement in cluttered scenes. Design and build an end-to-end evaluation pipeline to measure the impact of your improvements. Contribute to the development of robust and reliable perception solutions for challenging bin picking applications. Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals in modern software development practices. Skills you will need to be successful Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python. Experience with 3D point cloud processing and computer vision algorithms and familiarity with common libraries (e.g., Open3D, OpenCV). Knowledge of deep learning techniques and familiarity with Pytorch/Tensorflow. Understanding of robotics and industrial automation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Bonus points Experience with deep learning for point cloud processing. Familiarity with different sensor modalities (e.g., RGB-D cameras, LiDAR).
