Intern - Installation Survey Engineer
Installation Survey Engineer InternWe are looking for an Installation Survey Engineer Intern.The position is based in the Milan HQ of Prysmian Group.The Installation Survey Engineer Intern reports to the Installation Survey Manager and will be involved in the engineering of the survey works relevant to submarine cables.The candidate will in particular assist in the cable route engineering which is mainly developed in a GIS environment. In addition to the work on the route engineering he/she will provide support from Milano HQ for the execution of the geophysical or geotechnical survey activities.He/She will give inputs for the management and analysis of survey data.He/She will support the installation engineers during the tender phase of the projects, and he/she might be required to be an active part on some technical studies for example relevant to the interaction between submarine excavating machines and seabed soil.REQUIREMENTSA master’s degree in Geology/Geophysics (can be evaluated also a candidate close to degree), other degree could be evaluated according with curriculum (fields of study).Fluent in English, written and spoken.Specific interest and curiosity and will to learn technical topics.Good relationship approach.Team working capability.Pragmatism. Capability to set and to handle pragmatically the priorities.Flexibility and capability to manage changes during the work.Wish to quickly learn and get involved.Knowledge and familiarity with all basic and common software’s.The following are not specific requirements but are considered a plus for the role:Knowledge about Geophysical equipment and techniques.Knowledge about Geotechnical equipment and techniques.Knowledge about Geographical Information System.Knowledge about Geotechnical behavior of soils.Basic knowledge about cartography and Datum transformation.Practical experience on GIS software (in particular ArcGIS) and ACAD softwareCapability to prepare technical documentation.In view of a permanent position after a positive period of internship, the candidate should show availability to follow the execution of the survey activity on site both onshore and offshore.
