Supports the International Innovation and Partnerships Office broadly across a range of research, writing, and stakeholder engagementConducts research and analysis, identifies and engages with key stakeholders, and prepares draft documentation for internal and external audiences Maintains industry knowledge and remains abreast of the latest developments around foreign direct investmentConducts global economic research pertaining to New Jersey and analysis to follow up the NJEDA 2025 Global Economic IndexConducts tariffs analysis and research on other U.S. policy on foreign direct investment to New Jersey and our main international partners ResponsibilitiesDuties
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
Perform self-directed research on foreign direct investment into New Jersey using subscription research tools including analysis on how to improve reports with analysis and unique insightsProduce reports and papers for internal NJEDA guidance on these subjects with the support of a NJEDA staff member from my teamResearch on international real estate development into New Jersey and listing of key playersConduct contact management for this department and updates to changing diplomatic positions Assist deployment of the VITAL project, a community outreach program, including event production, planning, and outreach with a full time staff member Regular support for inbound foreign delegations to NJEDA offices
Goals and Objectives:
Assist in identifying and researching foreign direct investment trends and information relating to New Jersey’s economic growth Support outreach to corporate clients, community partners, and governmental organizations and agencies to increase partnership and investment in international economic relations Help prepare presentations and working documents for internal and external use
Collaboration and Cross-Divisional Interaction:
Engage with internal NJEDA teams supporting economic growth including external partners as needed
Reporting Structure:
Will report to the Director of International Innovation and Partnerships in the Office of the Chief of Staff or a designee Must complete annual self-assessment as required.Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned. QualificationsSkills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Preferred: Economic analysis, memo writing, foreign policy research, presentation creationSoft Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to foster communication with business professionals and EDA staffAbility to synthesize findings and propose actionable solutions Knowledge and understanding of economic development, policy and industry trends related to international relations and economic development, and a working understanding of economic policyEducation:
Undergraduate degree in economics, international relations, political science or related fields preferred; enrollment in accredited degree program minimally requiredSoftware/Tools Proficiency:
NJEDA utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

Minimal physical demands and ability to work out normal business hoursTravel expected when necessary for business operations
Certificates and Licenses Required
Staff are required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position.
