Intern - IT Systems Administrator
Description We are seeking a motivated and technically inclined College Junior to join our IT team as a Systems Administrator Intern. This position provides hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, including installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT systems and equipment. The intern will gain exposure to real-world IT operations, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to the reliability and security of our IT environment. Key Responsibilities: + Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure systems and equipment. + Provide support for IT Service Desk escalations and work with team members on daily support and maintenance tasks. + Participate in IT project initiatives as assigned by management. + Support Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. + Assist in Active Directory management, including user and computer accounts, security groups, and group policy objects (GPOs). + Gain hands-on experience with networking equipment such as routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. + Learn and assist with network protocols (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, TCP/IP, UDP) and virtual environments (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V). + Collaborate with IT team members to improve and document IT processes and best practices. + Comply with IT policies, standards, and security requirements to ensure the integrity and resilience of the IT environment. Qualifications: + Currently enrolled as a College Junior in an Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree program. + Strong interest in IT infrastructure, networking, and systems administration. + Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Windows operating systems. + Familiarity with Active Directory, O365, or basic networking concepts is a plus. + Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. + Strong customer service orientation and communication skills. + Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks effectively. + Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced IT environment. + Prior internship or IT-related work experience is a plus but not required.
