Data and document retention periods will be identified, and the intern will review legal requirements for retention of various forms of documents/data. The intern will propose a plan for managing the retention, including ultimate destruction of documents. The intern will also have the opportunity to participate in other legal matters, such as contract review, litigation, etc., in order to develop an understanding of the day-to-day functions of in-house counsel. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Collaborate with Legal and IT to identify and analyze various document/data storage sites + Identify legal requirements for various types/forms of data/documents + Propose framework for document retention policy + Establish review mechanism for document retention + Establish mechanism for document destruction once retention period expires **OPTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Assist in contract review + Participate in various legal issues that arise **Qualifications** **KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:** (Minimum Education and/or Experience required) + Rising junior or senior in a Bachelor's Degree program, with an interest in attending law school; or law school student with an interest in in-house counsel activities. + High school graduate/GED required + Excellent communication, interpersonal skills - written and verbal + Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task and prioritize work + Strong computer literacy, experience with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook + Hybrid (3 days office, 2 WFH). + **Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.** + **Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.** **Primary Location** : US-NJ-Lebanon **Job Type** : Administration **Req ID:** 250000F
