Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a motivated Automation Design Engineer Intern to support the design and development of automation solutions for manufacturing processes. This internship provides hands-on experience in tooling, fixture design, and workstation optimization to enhance production efficiency. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining practical knowledge in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and process improvement while contributing to real-world projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and development of tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing automationSupport concept designs for component handling systems and workstation layoutsCreate 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or similar softwareConduct basic tolerance studies, GD&T analysis, and simulations to verify designSupport engineering projects from concept to implementation under the guidance of senior engineersAssist in project scheduling, documentation, and reportingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of automation solutionsCoordinate with vendors for the procurement of engineering components and materialsHelp analyze and troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and automation equipmentParticipate in feasibility studies for new product transfers and process enhancementsContribute to Lean Manufacturing initiatives and workspace optimization effortsQualificationsREQUIRED:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Engineering, or a related field. Available for an internship duration of 3 months or more, starting in January 2026Basic proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD softwareStrong interest in mechanical design, automation, and engineering analysisBasic understanding of GD&T, simulations, and tolerance studies (preferred but not required)Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentationStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsGood command of spoken and written EnglishAbility to work in a team environment and learn quicklyPREFERRED:
