What you will do:

The Polymers Technical Service Intern will be working with the Construction Polymers Team. This internship will focus on projects evaluating physical properties of cementitious mortars and effects from the interactions of different inorganic and organic chemistries. This is a hands-on evaluation in accordance with ASTM, ANSI and ISO testing standards, as well as evaluation by design of experiment (DOE) and baselining raw materials.

 

Learn testing and parameters of other projects on-going within the technical group at the time of their assignment.    Exposure to other technical departments to assist in gaining a better understand of the breadth of Wacker's applications, and other functions of the business.

 

What we need from you:

Currently a rising sophomore or higher and attending school to obtain a college degree in the field of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar degree. Available full-time in-person commitment (Monday through Friday) for a Summer Internship Ability to practice laboratory safety and hygiene. Ability to work in a team-work environment and possess good interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and analytical skills Able to follow laboratory procedures and safety measures. Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task Effective time-management abilities Ability to positively present our company. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Physical Requirement: Must be able to stand/work in a laboratory environment for extended periods of time.
