**Job Summary:** As an Estes Pricing Intern, you will be assigned to one of our Pricing department teams where you will be exposed to the processes and technology used to price our services. Each Pricing intern will be paired with a mentor who will guide and oversee progress to ensure a successful experience for both the intern and Estes. This is a Temporary, Summer Internship position located primarily at Estes' Richmond HQ and lasting from June to August 2024 (maximum of 3 months). Estes values experience and successful incumbents will be encouraged to apply to any Part-time or Full-time opportunities that may be available following the conclusion of the internship period. + Provide analytical support to Senior Pricing Analysts by identifying both historical and hypothetical company trends. + Use the Estes costing model and various internal pricing reports + Assure current pricing is keyed correctly + Complete rate comparison projects (to other companies, customer rate conversions per request, etc.) + Learn the Estes Pricing philosophy and the skills required to price LTL freight + Gather customer information from the field necessary for accurate costing of freight + Compile costing analysis for Senior Pricing Analysts + Train under the mentorship of Senior Pricing and Yield Management Analysts + Complete miscellaneous analytical projects and responsibilities as assigned + Regular attendance is required. + This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks. **Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), and at least 2 years of post-secondary education experience required. Previous coursework in Business, Finance, Transportation, or Logistics, or related area of study is preferred but not required. + Proficiency in performing mathematical analysis required + Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required + Knowledge and experience in Access and AS/400 system preferred + Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting + Able to work within tight deadlines and efficiently complete assignments while keeping a focus on accuracy and details + Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job + Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct + Must be able to interact well with others + Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting + Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities + Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines + Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check + Must be authorized to work in the United States **Physical Demands:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
