Under direct supervision, the successful candidate will work with Analyst assignments involving the development of pricing strategy for purposes of cost recovery, supporting AES Ohio’s Tariffs, supporting Company rate case initiatives, reporting and regulatory compliance with PUCO rules and policies, evaluation of state and federal energy policies, as well as development of analyses that support pricing and regulatory initiatives. 

 

Qualifications: 

 

The successful candidate should be a student pursuing a four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics and possibly Engineering looking to learn another side of it.  

An academic standing of Junior status or higher is preferred but not exclusive.  

Skilled in researching information, compiling data and preparing and presenting analysis. 

Project management skills including developing and maintaining project work schedules. 

Excellent communications both written and verbal including coordinating and consulting with internal stakeholders. 

Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently are highly valued. 

Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft 365 and other SaaS applications 

 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

Develop and present pricing proposals for individual rate components, supporting overall pricing strategy and utility cost recovery, to Regulatory team. 

Participate in the use and development of moderately complex analytical tools to support regulatory pricing initiatives and regulatory filings.  

Support AES Ohio case initiatives, including but not limited to, rate design, development of testimony, responding to discovery requests, responding to audits, and participating in witness preparation. 

Prepare graphic illustrations to present data quickly and in a comprehensive manner to leadership. 

Prepare reports and special studies as may be requested. 

Supports efforts of tariffs & rate administration. 

Provides technical reports which include objective, fact-based and well-reasoned recommendations and rationale. 

The Intern may be expected to complete additional assignments as determined by their supervisor.
