Intern - Project Engineering
We are seeking to fill multiple Intern - Project Engineering roles for Summer 2025 at our Los Angeles, CA location. After orientation and training, interns will perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects. Interns will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with the design and development of control system electronics for military, space and/or test equipment design applications. Interns must be able to operate effectively in a team environment. Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September. At this facility, we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASA’s SLS, Lockheed Martin’s THAAD, Sierra Nevada’s Dream Chaser, and the Mars Perseverance Rover. Projects may include supporting areas such as avionics electronics design or avionics integration and test. Interns may contribute to the development of technical specifications, performing electronics design, analysis, and integration test activities. Tasks may include conceptual design support, part selection research, printed wiring board design and technical presentation support, electronics hardware assembly and test including test planning, preparation, execution and reporting. Interns may coordinate activities with internal organizations such as engineering, manufacturing, quality and supplier management teams. Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergradate or graduate degree program in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar major) and returning to school upon completion of the assignment. Preferred Requirements Junior standing or above Solid academic track record of accomplishment Working knowledge of Microsoft Software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Leadership & teamwork skills Coursework in EE fundamentals, semiconductor fundamentals, physics-based problem solving, design of experiments and laboratory test techniques Experience working in an electronics laboratory facility Emphasis in Analog, Digital or Power design Experience with printed wiring board design software tools In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $25.00/per hour - $47.50/per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
