Within Quality Informatics, the intern will be working with Quality and Revenue cycle focusing on payer denials. Will gain access to the medical record to capture response from insurance company – not have to read the medical record.
This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date of June 2, 2025. The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.
Interns hired for the summer cohort will be enrolled in Campus Greensboro’s Summer Fellows Program. This is an in-person, professional development training program sponsored by Cone Health.
To be considered, candidates must meet at least one of the below criteria:
Local College Students: Attendees of local institutions including University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Guilford College, Greensboro College, Guilford Technical Community College, Bennett College, Elon University and School of Law, North Carolina A&T State University.Guilford County High School Graduates: Those who graduated from Guilford County high schools and are now furthering their education outside of Greensboro. First Generation College Students: Students who are the first in their families to attend any college or university.

Work with quality and revenue cycle to improve documentation and coding that impacts outcomes that are risk adjusted. Data reporting on the gaps.
Will learn to use Premier, benchmarking vendor for reporting of our Pay for Performance measurs.
Will gain insight into Leapfrog healthcare survey on the measures we submit and process improvement on gaps.
EDUCATION:
Undergraduate seniors, or Master's students
Preferred Majors: Business, Healthcare related, Analytics,
EXPERIENCE:
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel – spreadsheets, graphs, pivot tables
Process Improvement (LEAN, Six Sigma) is not required – preferred
