Intern (Summer) - Functional Analyst

Partners with the Business Applications leader, working across organizations to drive common approaches that solve business challenges with technology.  Works to understand business requirements and business systems in order to design process improvements and business capability improvements needed to meet the business’ strategic goals. 

Support Business Application Solutions leadership and guidance around technology and business process solutionsResearch new functionality, system impacts, and identify areas of opportunity in current landscapeDevelop and review the creation of training, product, and solution documentationPerform business process assessment activitiesParticipate in resolving technology problemsParticipate in report writing and data analysisWork with other analysts to analyze and document interdependencies of system changesDesign and implement standard process improvements to ensure best practices are in place across systems groupsIdentifies opportunities to make changes in processes to eliminate outages, reduce waste, improve process and execution efficiencies, and improve risk posture across the organizationCollaborates with other IT groups and business partners to identify and sequence business capability improvements. Partners with the business to evaluate business goals, identify business problems, and propose solutions.Support Business Application Solutions team members as required in their initiatives

Skills and Abilities

Classwork or practical experience around software configuration and testingAbility to understand end-to-end business processes and existing technology landscapesAbility to collaborate, developing thought leadership work products such as best in class procedures and documentationAbility to understand the needs of non-technical customers and translate technical requirements into non-technical descriptionsStrong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skillsWillingness to take on any assignment regardless of complexity or in a technology area without previous experienceAbility to solve difficult problems using logic and methodology to derive the optimal solutionAbility to maintain confidentiality with privileged accessAbility to understand complex concepts and corresponding problem relationshipsSelf-starter with willingness to learn new tools in an international environmentAn enthusiastic technologist who loves to learn new things

Education and Experience Requirements

Pursuing a degree in computer science, data science, business management or information systems management at an accredited school.
