Your role and responsibilities

The quality and innovation of the engineering of our products, systems, and services keep our customers at the forefront. Developing solutions for our clients all over the world and working on our market-leading technologies will stimulate and enrich your work and mind. ABB Measurement & Analytics plant in Québec is the world leader in spectroscopy. Our contract engineering department is Canada's largest supplier of space optical sensors used for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide, among other things. Our plant is known for its expertise in the development and manufacture of various products that enable us to meet several industrial analyses needs on a daily basis. By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec (Canada), you will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary engineering team. As a systems engineer/scientist intern, you will participate in the development of analysis and remote sensing instruments for space missions. You will help ensure these projects are successfully delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with quality and safety guidelines. The desired intern has a developed physical sense, autonomy, and an aptitude for multidisciplinary teamwork.•\tContribute to the conception, design and modeling of a system.•\tMonitor the performance of a system.•\tCollaborate with the Integration and Test team in the development of test plans, their definition and test procedures.•\tRun tests and acquire data, then process and analyze this data.•\tContribute to developing technical documentation related to client projects mainly in English and sometimes in French.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s student in science or engineering.Knowledge of infrared optical instrumentation is an asset as is knowledge in the development of an instrument for space.Results-oriented and teamwork.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to provide clear and concise documentation.Ability to follow standardized aerospace procedures and methodologies.Experience with the Office suite and Matlab or Python.English-French bilingualism. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
