Responsibilities

We seek a motivated and talented Civil Engineering Intern to join our Transportation team for a dynamic internship opportunity. As an intern, you will have the chance to work on real-world projects, gain valuable hands-on experience, and collaborate with experienced professionals in the field of transportation engineering.

Work on roadway design projects, applying standard engineering techniques and procedures under supervision.Utilize MicroStation and other CAD software for basic design assignments, including establishing horizontal alignments, setting grades, and detailing project features.Assist with quantity takeoffs and calculations for roadway, drainage, traffic control, signage, signals, structures, and other miscellaneous project improvements.Participate in preliminary design tasks, such as preparing plans and engineering documents.Collaborate with the team on transportation projects, ensuring alignment with environmental and sustainability considerations.Gain hands-on experience in transportation engineering through close supervision and mentorship from senior engineers.Develop professional engineering skills while working on technical tasks and real-world assignments.Maintain effective communication and collaboration within the project team. Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation engineering.Strong academic record with coursework in transportation planning and design.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and other engineering design tools.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.Knowledge of environmental and sustainability considerations in transportation engineering is a plus.Previous internship or coursework related to transportation engineering is preferred.

This internship is designed to provide an in-person experience, offering valuable opportunities to build connections with your team, fellow interns, and other professionals. Interns are expected to work on-site each day for the duration of the program. Please note that relocation or housing assistance will not be provided for this internship.
