About the role 

Internship split across two head office teams: 

Group Reporting – responsible for consolidating and externally reporting Pearson’s financial results is support of the Group’s UK and US listings 

Group Financial Planning and Management Information (FP&MI) – responsible for internal financial planning, forecasting and reporting to the Board and senior management, as well as verification of externally reported data 

Key responsibilities 

FP&MI – support in the production of group management information and analysis (and attend trading calls senior leadership)  FP&MI – support the development/deployment of improvements to group management reporting / analysis tools    FP&MI – aid in the review and verification of our externally reported “interims” announcement and presentation   Group Reporting – support the preparation of the interim financial statements   Group Reporting – support the Project Polaris team. Project Polaris is the replacement of the current consolidation system (HFM) with Oracle’s cloud-based solution (FCCS) 

 

Key requirements  

Final year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree – preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, or Maths (but not essential)  Self-motivated and pro-active, with a genuine enthusiasm for the role and opportunity  Strong and confident communicator  Quick learner  Competent in Excel and PowerPoint  Ideally some experience with data manipulation/transformation, analysis or visualization  Expected to be in the office 3x a week on specific days.

This is a 10-week internship programme, commencing Monday 16th June 2025. You will be paid for the duration of your 10-week internship at a pro-rata annual salary of £27,007.50.  

Submission deadline Monday 17 February 2025. Assessment centre Friday 7 March 2025 in our London office (80 Strand), followed by final interviews in the week commencing Monday 17 March 2025.
