About the role 

Group Tax are responsible for managing Pearson’s corporate tax and indirect tax (e.g. VAT) affairs around the world, including our biggest markets (US, UK, Canada and Australia) as well as the 50+ other countries Pearson operates in. This includes things like ultimate oversight of day-to-day tax compliance, to Effective Tax Rate, Balance Sheet and Cash Tax management, Tax Strategy and risk management, and M&A tax support.  

Group Tax are driving an agenda of continuous improvement, including a focus on standardizing and optimizing processes and operating model, making the best use of internal and external technology solutions and keeping pace with the development of Gen AI solutions in the world of tax. This role would support with:  

Mapping local and global tax processes   Implementation of enhanced technology solutions  Implementation of improved operating model solutions 

 

Key requirements  

Final year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably with some coding, financial, accounting, economics, or mathematical focus  A keen interest in learning more about tax and accounting  Coding experience, and/or familiarity with tools like Visio and Alteryx  Highly organised with good project management and documentation skills  Expected to be in the office ~2 to 3x a week on specific days.

This is a 10-week internship programme, commencing Monday 16th June 2025. You will be paid for the duration of your 10-week internship at a pro-rata annual salary of £27,007.50.  

Submission deadline Monday 17 February 2025. Assessment centre Friday 7 March 2025 in our London office (80 Strand), followed by final interviews in the week commencing Monday 17 March 2025. The internship will end 10 weeks from the start date.
