Internal Audit, Financial Reporting Controls/SOX Associate – New York
Job Description
Blackstone Internal Audit (BXIA) facilitates the project management, quality assurance and oversight of internal control testing related to financial reporting and compliance for Blackstone’s SOX Compliance program. The Internal Audit Financial Reporting Controls Associate will be primarily responsible for execution of day-to-day activities to support the firm-wide SOX program and assessment of its internal controls over financial reporting. The candidate may also be involved in documenting and assessing financial reporting controls outside of SOX scope and contributing to department-wide strategic initiatives. BXIA’s remit spans across all areas of the Firm, including the business strategy teams who are responsible for investment and asset management; corporate functions such as Human Resources, Finance and Compliance; as well as the regional entities across EMEA and APAC. Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Support Financial Reporting Controls PMO in execution of the firm-wide Sarbanes-Oxley program requirements of ICFR complianceCoordinate with process owners across business segments and corporate functions from planning through deficiency remediationCollaborate with external audit for key financial reporting requirements to maximize relianceCollaborate with team members to deliver on responsibilities, including dedicated offshore resourcesContribute to preparation of financial statement and fraud risk assessmentsPrepare for and participate in design walkthroughs and maintain process narratives and controlsPerform control testing quality assurance reviews and evaluate control deficiencies, propose remediation and monitor to closureFacilitate quarterly SOX Process Owner attestationsAssist in preparation of SOX status reporting for Audit CommitteeAnalyze 10-Q and 10-K financial statementsEngage in financial reporting valuation control reviews with the audit team, participate in discussions with management and external auditorsMaintain knowledge of current regulatory requirements impacting internal controls over financial reportingDevelop ongoing working relationships within the firm, and communicate ways to improve controlsLearn and become an expert with using AuditBoard, BXIA’s cloud-based SOX/Audit workflow toolParticipate in firm and industry events that will enhance your skills and expand your knowledge of the alternative asset management fieldQualifications

Expected annual base salary range:
$105,000 - $140,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
