Manage the Internal Audit function under guidance of the Internal Audit Director, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Develop and execute comprehensive audit plans, including risk assessments, audit programs, and timelines.Evaluate the effectiveness of internal financial controls and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.Identify and assess potential risks to the organization and provide recommendations for mitigation.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and action plans, and present them to senior management.Lead, mentor, and develop staff internal auditors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.Collaborate with various departments and levels of management to ensure audit findings are understood and addressed.Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and report on progress to senior management.Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA) is preferred.5+ years of private industry or public accounting experience, management experience, and/or project planning experience preferred.Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in audit work.Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with all levels of the organization, including leadership.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to identify issues and develop effective and risk-based solutions.Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion while balancing competing deadlines.High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all audit activities.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Proficiency in Workiva preferred.Ability to effectively lead a team to project completion.

Working Conditions:

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.

Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.
