The Internal Communications Specialist plays a key role in bringing our purpose and priorities to life for Associates across North America. By creating and managing content across a variety of internal channels, this role helps ensure that all Associates—whether in the office, at home, or in our manufacturing sites—feel informed, engaged, and connected to the business.
This is an ideal role for a digitally-minded communicator—someone who’s comfortable with technology, eager to explore new tools, and focused on delivering content in fast, modern, and effective ways. What are we looking for?Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field required1+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate comms, journalism, or a related field Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills Strong comfort with digital tools and platforms used for internal communications (e.g., SharePoint, email platforms, intranet tools, digital signage) Tech-savvy with a working knowledge of modern productivity tools—including presentation software, content management systems, and emerging AI-powered writing, layout, or planning tools Experience creating or formatting content in PowerPoint or other desktop publishing tools preferred Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-changing communications landscapeWhat will be your key responsibilities?Support the Strategic Business Communications team in executing the North American Pet Nutrition Associate communications strategyManage day-to-day execution and maintenance of internal communication channels including intranet, digital signage, newsletters, and email updatesManage and track strategic editorial across internal and external teamsWrite, edit, and develop engaging content that brings our purpose and progress to life across platformsPartner with internal teams to surface great stories and turn them into content that informs and inspires Associates and pet parentsBuild and maintain a centralized library of internal communications materials—making it easy for the team to find, reference, and repurpose past content like newsletters, announcements, presentations, and talking pointsRecommend, implement, and administer digital communication tools to better serve a hybrid workforce (including manufacturing, remote, and office-based Associates)Track performance of key communication channels and recommend ways to improve reach and engagementProvide on-site support for internal events, including logistics, communications materials, signage, and follow-up contentAssist with team operations including budget support (e.g., submitting POs, managing SOWs) and communications planningSupport ad-hoc communications needs and special projects as assignedWhat can you expect from Mars?Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by The Five Principles.
