As Trupanion grows, so does the importance of informing, connecting and energizing more than 1,200 employees, field agents and contractors across multiple countries. That’s why we’re looking for a collaborative, highly organized and motivated Internal Communications Specialist to join the Corporate Communications team and help us take our internal communications to the next level. 

The Internal Communications Specialist will report to the Director of Internal Communications and will support the planning and execution of internal communications initiatives to inform, inspire, and connect our global Trupanion community to the business, to the mission, and to each other. 

This position is open to candidates located in, or willing to relocate to, the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week. 

What you will do:  

Support the Director of Internal Communications to design and execute effective internal campaigns for major company initiatives and announcements. 

Plan, collect, and draft original content for use across internal communication platforms (e-mail, internal newsletter, intranet, meetings, MS Teams, TVs, etc.). 

Draft the weekly company newsletters as well as company-wide and team-specific announcements for review. 

Support the planning, logistics, and execution of internal communications campaigns as well as in-person, hybrid and remote events (all-team meetings, leadership team meetings, in-office/hybrid/remote events, milestone celebrations, etc.). 

Drive user engagement with internal communication channels through action-driving content, proactive content planning and continuous improvement to the user experience. 

Support employee storytelling campaigns, including engaging participants and drafting content (written, audio or video).  

Design graphics to use across various channels (email, PowerPoint, intranet, etc.).  

Help enhance the user experience of the intranet through updates and keeping the content, sites, and navigation accurate and up to date.  

Identify and recommend opportunities to improve internal communications processes to be more efficient, effective and user focused. 

Support the Director and Technology department with strategic planning, troubleshooting, and support for the company’s intranet (SharePoint Online). 

Assist other departments with internal communications tools (intranet, e-newsletter platform, Viva Engage, etc.).   

Collect and analyze internal communications data to support data driven decision making and to monitor campaign performance. 

Experience you have: 

2-3 years related experience in a communications role; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred 

Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a keen eye for editing and proofreading. 

Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to nimbly balance multiple priorities simultaneously. 

Ability to produce high quality work while handling multiple projects against multiple deadlines. 

A track record of collaborating across multiple departments to successfully execute complex projects. 

Aptitude for turning complex concepts or items into accessible and digestible pieces of content for non-experts. 

Proficiency with Microsoft’s O365 environment (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms, Viva Engage, Teams, etc.) 

Strong understanding of SharePoint Online (or similar intranet tools) preferred 

Experience with Canva (or similar graphics tools) preferred

Compensation: 

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000 per year, on a full-time schedule. Along with the base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses. We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
