Internal Compliance Officer

As the Internal Compliance Officer, you will collaborate with the Site Governance Manager to develop, maintain, and review the Quality Management System, ensuring the site is audit-ready. Working in partnership with the Quality Team and cross functional teams, you will contribute to the overarching quality ambition of Danone Specialised Nutrition by delivering products of consistent, specified quality and uncompromising safety. You will:

 

Lead the implementation, development, and management of the site’s Food Defence System, Food Fraud initiatives, Internal Audit processes, Crisis Management coordination (as Coordinator and Facilitator), and act as the iCare Coordinator, fostering a culture of quality within the site.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and instill a “Right First Time” ethos throughout the organisation.Enhance and uphold quality standards by employing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies Ensure all operations within your areas of responsibility are executed safely and in compliance with company protocols, including Fire Evacuation, Accident Reporting, and Food Safety/Quality procedures.Promote and enforce safe and responsible behaviour among staff within your area of responsibility

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & KPI’S


• Oversee the implementation and application of Food Defence Procedures, including establishing a multidisciplinary Food Defence team, with detailed responsibilities outlined in the local Food Defence procedure.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Food Defence at the site.
• As the Food Defence Coordinator, collaborate with the Facilities and Security teams to ensure adherence to Food Defence Procedures, including regular inspections.
• Support the Governance Manager in the development and maintenance of the site’s Quality Management System (including site templates) to uphold commitments to Food Safety, Legality, and Quality, while meeting third-party, central, FDA/FSMP, and country-specific product registration requirements.
• Monitor, trend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across various Quality processes.
• Assist the Governance Manager in maintaining and enhancing the Quality System through audits and reviews, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented when required.
• Coordinate and complete the site’s Management Review process, including preparing the Management Review report and relevant subgroup documentation.
• Maintain and improve training matrices for the Quality Group, proposing enhancements as necessary.
• Manage and maintain the site’s Crisis Management documentation, while supporting the Business Unit Crisis Manager (BUCM) in completing the Vestalis process and organising annual simulations, intruder tests, and Crisis Audits.
• Regularly review, update, and maintain the legal register.
• Manage communication and administrative activities related to TSO and EHO compliance at the site.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to deliver sustainable, continuous improvement solutions, including mitigating risks such as those posed by glass and hard plastics.
• Provide support during external audits, including ISO, FDA, EHO, and Corporate audits.
• Assist in change management processes across the site, acting as the deputy coordinator for change control assessments.
• Contribute to FSI (Corporate Standards) projects, ensuring systems and processes achieve compliance.
• Oversee the management and development of the internal audit system and team, coordinating all related activities.
• Act as the iCare Coordinator to promote a culture of quality through activities, surveys, and development initiatives.
• Serve as the Food Fraud Coordinator, overseeing team and system development, including associated documentation.
• Support the agency process structure at the site.
• Provide quality and food safety/defence perspective support in contractor and waste management activities, including secure destruction processes.
• Conduct PRP (Pre-Requisite Programme) verification reviews for the site.
• Report and follow up on safety-related concerns identified within your scope of responsibility.
• Conduct distribution, evaluation, and gap analysis of certification changes and central standards.
• Deliver training sessions on topics such as Food Fraud, Food Defence, and Quality Culture, while supporting quality/food safety inductions.
• Create and disseminate clear, factual quality messages sitewide.

Analysis and Risk Management  - Knows the risks in his/her area and the actions needed to manage them using a risk analysis tools based in HACCP principles.

 

Sustainable Environment Management - Knowledge and understanding the content in ISO 14001 and set KPI’s to manage and monitor compliance.

 

Food Regulation-  Understands the nutritional basics.
