Job Description Summary:

The Business Risk and Control Lead (“BRCL”) is responsible for enabling the Product/Business owner to mitigate and manage applicable risks to their area. The Business Risk and Control Lead (BRCL) is embedded in the business and enables the day-to-day management of risks by the business. The BRCL manages and executes risk processes that exist in the first line, such as risk identification, risk assessment, risk and control evaluation, management and resolution of issues and incidents,). This role is also responsible for managing product/business-specific risk forums, and interfacing with the Second Line of Defense to understand and apply risk frameworks and protocols. BRCL Role also plays a key role in managing/facilitating all internal and external Exam Engagements and Business Continuity Planning (BCPs) on behalf of Service Experience

Job Description:

Responsible for the execution of risk management activities within Service Experience in collaboration with the Risk and Compliance Business Partner (RCPE).Conduct end to end Issue Management in accordance with policy including identification, documentation, and remediation oversight and validationCreate and maintain risk and control inventories including Capabilities, Products, Processes, Legal Entity, Risks, and ControlsIdentify control gaps and remediate risks for all new regulatory and product changes across Service Experience

Provide guidance to First Line on the execution of Process Assurance Monitoring and analyze results for risks to the businessDrive execution of incident, complaint, and ARCP remediationAccountable for review and approval of Business Continuity PlansMaintenance of Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) tool data for areas of responsibility Review and derive insights from key risk metrics for their business area, interpreting the data. provided through dashboards and reporting (such as reg exams, complaints, incidents, etc.).Provide assertions on risk exposure and articulate and present escalated risks to management.Maintain strong understanding of key risk management principles and PayPal products and services within area of responsibility.·       Manage audit and exam activities for Service Experience. 

o   Understand exam scope and analyze impact for each business unit 

o   Respond to Exam Engagements (e.g., Second Line of Defense reviews, Internal Audits, Regulatory Examinations) through collaboration with other BRCLs

o   Facilitate review of potential findings from Exam Engagement with stakeholders and GCS Leadership

o   Negotiate / Influence with Internal Audit / Second Line of Defense and Senior Stakeholders pertaining to but not limited to Exam Scope and data requirements, Issue Ratings and overall Exam Ratings

o   Support drafting of audit issues and remediation plans within the prescribed timelines and obtain the appropriate approvals

o   Effectively communicate and present the exam plans and progresses to various stakeholders including Senior Leadership

o   Build, maintain and proactively assess exam best practices to minimize efforts from business

o   Identify and escalate potential missing/weak controls for future improvement to other GCS BRCLs
