To strengthen our Group Accounting, Tax and Treasury team, based at our HQ, in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Internal Controls Data Analyst.
About The Role
The Global Internal Control function operates as an independent function but supports the operations/line management in building and maintaining efficient and effective internal control process/system. It also monitors compliance of finance processes, systems, and its operations in accordance with UCB policies and procedures in coordination with audit functions. We are expanding our scope to non-financial reporting (namely Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) / Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)).
Internal Controls Data Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of our financial processes as well as non-financial reporting (ESG/CSRD).Responsible and accountable for connection of data sources, analysis and answering business questions via consistent and auditable methods.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our control environment and influence system setups.Reports to Head of Internal Controls
What You’ll Do
Extract and interpret financial and non-financial data to uncover trends and areas for improvement.Translate complex data into actionable insights for informed decision-making.Proactively engage stakeholders to understand business needs and develop meaningful reports.Create dashboards to provide valuable information for management and audit purposes.Assess existing controls and processes, identifying gaps and inefficiencies.Recommend enhancements based on data findings to optimize procedures.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
Bachelor's degree required; minimum 5 years of finance process experience in a global organization, preferably in pharma/biopharma.Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in data analytics; experience in ESG reporting is advantageous.Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikSense).Knowledge of finance, accounting, and auditing principles; familiarity with industry internal control standards such as COSO.Understanding of financial processes (S2P, O2C, R2R, Master Data, Tax) and their risks & controls, including interfaces with other functional areas.Strong analytical skills, proactive mindset, excellent stakeholder management, negotiation skills, and proven leadership ability within a global organization.
