As an Internal Controls Specialist, You will be a part of a dynamic and integrated Finance function delivering services through customer focus, transparency, effective process design, both internally and with our business process outsourcing (BPO) service delivery partners. This role reports directly to the Internal Controls Manager. The role is responsible primarily for delivering high quality internal controls and risk management activities to the business as part of the new JM Hub structure.
Your responsibilities:
Design and implement ICFR, Non-ICFR, and ITGC controls in collaboration with different sectors and ensure adherence to policies and effective operation of controls
Work with Internal Control teams to provide a second line of defense, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of business unit balance sheets
Complete the ICFR framework controls review at both site and sector levels, identifying gaps in current controls and implementing necessary improvements
Proactively identify and manage business and financial risks, report on the ongoing effectiveness of financial controls, and prepare action plans to remediate control deficiencies in finance processes
Drive compliance with anti-bribery and corruption laws, competition law, anti-money laundering regulations, import/export legislation, and other relevant laws. Provide organizational leadership and foster cross-business collaboration to build an efficient, performance-oriented, and process-oriented culture
Requirements for the role:
Strong background in management of risk and internal controls, or experience of delivering a continuous improvement agenda.
Prior experience as an accountant in a Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) or Global Business Services (GBS).
Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, with familiarity in ERP systems
A university degree or equivalent, along with an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) would be considered advantageous.
Great communication skills with the ability to manage relationships effectively.
