Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Greensboro, North Carolina Battery Plant Manufacturing Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Internal Logistics Group Leader.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Internal Logistics Department Manager and support meeting all Logistics safety, quality, cost, and productivity KPIs during initial pre-production through SOP and eventual transition into responsibility for stable conveyance.

What you’ll be doing

Working a 12 Hour NIGHT shift on a 2-2-3 Panama scheduleSupervision of a team in a shipping & receiving dockManage the flow of raw material and components from the receiving dock to our internal processes and out to our final customersComplete Time Entry and effectively manage all coding and HR issues dailyUnderstand Staffing Conditions and adjust accordinglyPromote and exemplify a safety-first work cultureMaintain a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions. Uphold company values and ensure that all team members do the sameUnderstand the line condition and ensure tools/equipment are capable prior to shift startSupport and enable direct report activity to achieve strategic hoshin direction to ensure successful conveyance launch of all battery linesSupport the strategic direction to implement, improve, and sustain the 3 Pillar and FMDS systems for battery productionCollaborate closely with other groups to promote strong kaizen culture to ensure customer expectations are exceededKaizen functions for TBMNC internal conveyance current daily process to drive standardization and promote best practiceSupport NAMC with Internal Logistics planning of the new model through IL standards and benchmarking tools to create best practice assumptions

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience2+ years of Logistics or PC management experienceExperience in manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or warehousing industries, preferably with a Logistics backgroundProficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics experienceStrong leadership skills with experience leading teams, coaching problem-solving, and driving continuous improvementExperience in production manpower planning aligned with running production processes (e.g., attendance, absenteeism, overtime management)Comfort with shop floor operations, ability to assess situations, and deploy resources to solve problems and abnormalitiesCommitment to professional conduct, fostering a respectful and productive work environmentStrong communication & visualization skillsAbility to create and execute strategic direction

Battery or Toyota manufacturing experience3 Pillar management/execution experienceHoshin creation and executionDemonstrated technical problem-solving ability (PDCA, RC/CM, TBP)
