**Continental Tire has been around for over 150 years, we’ve been changing the way the world moves while making it more safe, smart, sustainable and accessible to all. Our Sumter, SC location is seeking a Manufacturing Technician III (Lead) to join our Curing department.**

**THE POSITION**
+ Responsible for green tire stock control, maintenance, and coordinating production within the curing department while on a specified shift
+ Responsible for monitoring, controlling, implementing, and reporting of all activities in the curing department
+ Maintain the green tire inventory accuracy
+ Monitor the reporting of all green tires blocked (quarantined) by maintaining specific inventory of those tires, updated once per shift with the cause and decision of what to do per article
+ Phase in and phase out control by guaranteeing that all tires from each article that is phasing out are cured in time and all phase in articles are properly managed
+ Monitor the process of getting tires in time to curing
+ Maintain organization of green tire storage area
+ Monitor the process of getting tires in time to curing and informing sequencing, tire building, and curing supervision about possible deviations that will possibly stop curing molds
+ Promote and monitor safety throughout your area and in the plant
+ Participate in effective problem solving (CBS, 5 why, 4D)
+ Mentor and train (or help arrange training) as necessary, to ensure the team is capable and effective in their daily tasks
+ Create work orders in SAP and communicate with maintenance when needed
+ Liaison between hourly employees and supervisor and report directly to the supervisor and/or department manager
+ Participate in the VAR employee dialogue process with supervisor
+ Enforce and respect departmental technical compliance to all mandatory policies including safety, environmental, ISO, quality, plant policy, corporate policy, etc.
+ Utilize problem solving skills, multi-tasking abilities, and broad technical background to include knowledge of the equipment and processes within production area
+ Must be willing to monitor production equipment and with within an assigned area, to allow early intervention when issues arise and have flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet departmental needs
+ Must be willing to coach team with respect to potential training needs on an ongoing basis and promote team concepts and cohesion within the team
+ Issue procedures and work instructions, ensure implementation of measures, and maintain controls
+ Raise awareness, ensure regular ESH training and provide information about ESH responsibilities and duties
+ Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards
+ Demonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate others
+ Support the Continental Business System (CBS) structure by participating in the applicable CBT meeting, reviewing and managing his/her/team performance, conducting simple problem-solving using action sheets, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, participating in the CBT reviews, and taking ownership for presented parts of the team boards
+ Other duties as assigned
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Two or more years’ experience in the curing department at Continental Tire
+ Must be able to work 12 hour 2-2-3 pattern (panama) night shift 6:45pm-7:00am including every other weekend
+ This role is an internal only position, external applicants will not be considered for this role
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is not able to offer visa support
+ Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Three or more years of Continental plant experience
+ Setup tech and/or Hirata certified in the curing department
+ Excel, SAP, and MMS experience
