Job Description

THE POSITION

Responsible for green tire stock control, maintenance, and coordinating production within the curing department while on a specified shiftResponsible for monitoring, controlling, implementing, and reporting of all activities in the curing departmentMaintain the green tire inventory accuracyMonitor the reporting of all green tires blocked (quarantined) by maintaining specific inventory of those tires, updated once per shift with the cause and decision of what to do per articlePhase in and phase out control by guaranteeing that all tires from each article that is phasing out are cured in time and all phase in articles are properly managedMonitor the process of getting tires in time to curingMaintain organization of green tire storage areaMonitor the process of getting tires in time to curing and informing sequencing, tire building, and curing supervision about possible deviations that will possibly stop curing moldsPromote and monitor safety throughout your area and in the plantParticipate in effective problem solving (CBS, 5 why, 4D)Mentor and train (or help arrange training) as necessary, to ensure the team is capable and effective in their daily tasksCreate work orders in SAP and communicate with maintenance when neededLiaison between hourly employees and supervisor and report directly to the supervisor and/or department managerParticipate in the VAR employee dialogue process with supervisorEnforce and respect departmental technical compliance to all mandatory policies including safety, environmental, ISO, quality, plant policy, corporate policy, etc.Utilize problem solving skills, multi-tasking abilities, and broad technical background to include knowledge of the equipment and processes within production areaMust be willing to monitor production equipment and with within an assigned area, to allow early intervention when issues arise and have flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet departmental needsMust be willing to coach team with respect to potential training needs on an ongoing basis and promote team concepts and cohesion within the teamIssue procedures and work instructions, ensure implementation of measures, and maintain controlsRaise awareness, ensure regular ESH training and provide information about ESH responsibilities and dutiesEnsure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazardsDemonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate othersSupport the Continental Business System (CBS) structure by participating in the applicable CBT meeting, reviewing and managing his/her/team performance, conducting simple problem-solving using action sheets, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, participating in the CBT reviews, and taking ownership for presented parts of the team boardsOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GEDTwo or more years’ experience in the curing department at Continental TireMust be able to work 12 hour 2-2-3 pattern (panama) night shift 6:45pm-7:00am including every other weekendThis role is an internal only position, external applicants will not be considered for this roleLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Three or more years of Continental plant experienceSetup tech and/or Hirata certified in the curing departmentExcel, SAP, and MMS experience
