Internal Patient Transport Supervisor

 

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Works in a small work station area with above average levels of noise and interruptions. Located in the main lobby of the hospital to dispatch all calls and assist as needed with visitor assistance. As needed, may fill in for transport when . May be exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and with long periods in a stationary position and moving around the units if filling in for transport staff. Risks exposure to disease, infection and physical strain, exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue. Must be able to move or position 50+ lbs. independently.

 

 

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:

Heavy contact with patients, family members and significant others, physicians and Associates, other healthcare providers, community resource personnel, administrative staff, hospital support services, and the general public. Must be able to communicate effectively. Should be exceptionally pleasant, conscientious, objective, tactful, diplomatic, and responsible, in order to build internal and external relationships.

 

EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge and recognition of basic human needs and demonstrates a willingness to help others. Self–directed, works independently. Flexibility with scheduling to include weekends and holidays to meet patient needs. Demonstrates ability to accept and carry out an assigned task. Maturity and ability to deal effectively with demands of the job. Uses stretchers, gait belts, wheelchairs, transfer boards, and other types of patient transfer equipment. Must have good body mechanics. Computer skills required. Meditech knowledge preferred.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. CPR Certified, training, CPI Certification, Respiratory Training.

 

Experience: years experience required.

 

 

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:

CPR required. CPI required.
