Job Description

In this role you will lead training initiatives for new and existing associates, working closely with coaches, group leads & supervisors. Identify and resolve training process issues, guide continuous process improvement projects for on-the-job (OTJ) training, to improve job knowledge and skills; as well as promote production efficiency.

Demonstrate safe behaviors through work tasks and processes, serving as a positive role model through modeling desirable behaviorsKey leader in promoting safety firstRepresent quality standards at all timesTrain and develop coaches through formal and informal methodsCoordinate & facilitate OJT for new and existing production associatesFacilitate the Hourly Development Program (Entry Level) to include:Conducting quarterly training sessions with coachesSeek to understand and work through training issues with coachesAcquire and track survey data from associates and coachesUse data from surveys to update the program and keep it freshContinuously inform supervisors on the progress of their associatesMaintain certifications for all respective job tasksPartner with Supervisor to develop/manage associate training plansDrive accountability for job rotation and plansWeekly training/certification progress reportsValidate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) / work instructions with Document ControlValidate processes thru LPA and ergonomics analysisCollaborate with other BU Trainers for documentation, consistency; as well as, support plant-wide training initiatives (orientation, mentor program, certification)Continuously update current programsAssist with project work, such as completing Tru-ImprovementsFlex schedule to meet the demands on all 3 shiftsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Graduate/HSE or equivalent manufacturing experienceProficient in Microsoft OfficeExcellent presentation/communication skills both verbal, and writtenSelf-directedWork well with othersComfortable with providing on the job training and classroom trainingGreat Attendance and solid current job performanceInterface professionally with all associates, at all levelsAbility to work in a cross functional team environmentStrong ability to drive positive change

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Six months to one year related experience preferred.

NON- PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration on a daily basis.  Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors are seasonally in nature.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of computer functions and strong computer operations skills. Ability to run respective inventory system (Great Plains, E21, Bentley, MES etc.)

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write correspondence.
