We are continuing to expand our Risk Management team and have a new opportunity for an International Claims Manager. This key role manages the international group of public/general liability, employment liability, property, ocean cargo, and auto claims filed against the Company to ensure proper claim handling by insurance carrier; including timely investigations, litigation management and sound settlement evaluation techniques. They will advise Senior Management regarding large exposure claims and assist the AVP Risk Management in identifying opportunities to mitigate insured losses.
This is a hybrid position based in our Marlborough, MA offices. During the onboarding and initial training period, this position will require expanded onsite days to build relationships with key internal stakeholders and external business partners.
What You Will Do:
Manage the international claims portfolio for the Company, which includes: Promptly initiating claim documentation information requestsReviewing files and making recommendations to ensure proper handling and case resolutionReviewing reserves and allocated expenses for adequacyEvaluating cases for settlement, ensuring settlements are reasonable and timely Ensure insurance carrier adheres to Claims Protocol Instructions, including:Maintaining direct communication with primary contacts at insurance carrier to ensure quality claims handling including participation in claim review meetingsIdentifying deficiencies and makes recommendations to improve handling of the account Evaluate the adequacy of indemnity reserves and make recommendations based on liability, damages, and jurisdiction. Obtain approval and authorization of settlements on all claims, identifies all large exposure claims and reviews those claims with appropriate senior leadership. Develop strong, effective cross functional business partnerships with internal & external stakeholders.Keep abreast of all relevant Country specific legislation and determine its impact on the business.
Who We Are Looking For: You
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent professional experience required, concentration in Business, Finance or Risk Management preferred5+ years of relevant experience as a Claims Manager, Claims Adjuster or other related position in the property/casualty industry, International claims experience preferredARM or CPCU designation or licensed insurance broker a plusDemonstrated thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure the highest standards for accuracy and completenessInitiative-taker with energy and drive for resultsAbility to successfully manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesSuperior analytical, quantitative, and creative problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsProven experience delivering results through strategic negotiationDeveloped skill collaborating and building effective working relationships with internal and external partners in a constantly evolving environmentWillingness to accommodate flexible work schedules to meet critical deadlines and maintain internal/external business relationships with teams across the globeHighly proficient with Microsoft 365 suite

This position has a starting salary range of $92,900 to $118,500 per year.
Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
