International Food Security Survey Program Associate

Description

ICF is growing, and we are currently hiring an International Food Security Survey Program Associate to support our population-based survey work. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Rockville, Maryland.

The Team:

ICF manages the USAID-funded Surveys for Monitoring in Resilience and Food Security (SMRFS) project as part of Feed the Future, the U.S. Government’s flagship initiative to reduce global hunger and improve food security. The SMRFS Team collaborates with local survey implementing organizations to implement population-based surveys in targeted geographical areas where the U.S. Government and its partners invest in agriculture, resilience, and nutrition. The SMRFS Team also works with USAID to update and expand Feed the Future’s publicly available population-based survey guidance materials (https://agrilinks.org/post/feed-future-zoi-survey-methods), conduct additional analyses, and investigate ways to reduce burden and collect data using alternative methods.

The Work: 

As an International Food Security Survey Program Associate on the SMRFS Team, you will support the team in knowledge management, communications, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), and capacity strengthening. You will also support data disseminations, data use workshops, and capacity strengthening workshops, support the production of written materials for communications, MEL, and capacity strengthening, and assist with other activities, such as coordinating video production, indicator reporting, or assisting with documentation of capacity strengthening assessments and feedback surveys. You will contribute to the development and documentation of best practices and lessons learned in communications, MEL, and capacity strengthening.

Key Responsibilities:

Support knowledge management activities for SMRFS team, including identifying standard practices, supporting the team in implementation of practices, streamlining and updating organization of filesSupport the design and planning of capacity strengthening activities, deliverables, and task schedulesTranscribe documentation and recordings into summaries and annexes for capacity strengthening assessments and reportsPrepare and summarize feedback survey responses from a variety of trainings and workshopsAssist in preparing scopes of work, budgets, and sole source justifications for subcontracted organizationsAssist in preparing for dissemination events for diverse stakeholdersSource and organize photos for project documents and presentations, including writing photo captionsPopulate templates for a variety of reports by synthesizing content from various sourcesAssist in reviewing and formatting documents for conformity to APA styleTake meeting minutes during internal meetings and meetings with clients and subcontractorsSupport other aspects of the project, including tasks assigned by the management or operations/survey management teamSupport collating content for the project level deliverables such as annual reportsWrite and present in professional EnglishTravel internationally approximately 10-15% of the time

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in public health, international studies, social science, food security, agriculture, or nutrition2+ years of experience with monitoring and evaluation, communications, or capacity strengthening in developing countriesExperience working in low- and middle-income countries

Desired Qualifications:

Master’s degree in public health, international studies, social science, food security, agriculture, or nutritionExperience working on USAID funded projectsExperience working on projects with an agriculture, climate, or resilience focusIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordData visualization skillsGeneral professional proficiency in verbal and written French, Portuguese, or Spanish

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$65,820.00 - $111,894.00
