The Opportunity

 At Roche Diagnostics, the International Healthcare Quality Improvement Consultant (IHQIC) plays a pivotal role in implementing our vision and strategy for excellence in healthcare consulting specifically in the areas of near patient care, infectious diseases, oncology, cardiometabolic, and neurological disease prevention, diagnosis, and management.

You will be a key driver within the Roche Healthcare Consulting global team, building systems that enhance healthcare quality for customers and patients globally. You will create scalable consulting solutions to improve clinical outcomes, patient safety, and operational efficiencies. Your work will drive internal change within Roche and support our journey from a leading diagnostics solution provider to a healthcare transformation partner. 

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management: Develop and direct strategic healthcare consulting projects to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with internal and external partners.

Consultancy Development: Create and enable the implementation of consulting services in prioritised areas of disease prevention, diagnosis and management for healthcare transformation, patient engagement, and quality standards.

Collaboration: Work with healthcare executives, service line leaders, and thought leaders to develop and scale consulting solutions.

Leadership: As an individual contributor, you will lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Training and Development: Identify training needs and enhance the capabilities of the global consultancy team.

Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate relationships with key customers and external partners to promote Roche's market positioning.

Information Flow: Ensure relevant information is communicated between teams and affiliates.

Who you are

A licensed/board-certified clinician with 8+ years of in-hospital quality and/or patient care pathway improvement experience is preferred. Consideration will be given to individuals with advanced degrees in Business/Healthcare Administration, Advanced Practice Nursing, Pharmacy, and Life Sciences that have demonstrated ability to improve and measure the quality of healthcare delivery.

The following are an added advantage:

Professional certifications in quality improvement such as Lean or Six Sigma, with validated expertise in applying structured problem-solving methodologies to optimise healthcare processes.

Hands-on experience running inpatient or outpatient clinics, e.g. Heart Failure or Diabetes Clinics, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to manage chronic disease care pathways.

Led quality and continuous improvement initiatives that resulted in improved clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.

Familiarity with or experience implementing digital health technologies such as telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, or electronic health records (EHR) integration. 

Additional Requirements:

Proven experience with clinical pathway implementation and/or optimization.

Strategic thinking and planning skills with proven analytical and forward-looking thought processes.

Understanding of diverse healthcare environments across different regions, including hospitals, payers, and policymakers, with the ability to navigate varying healthcare systems and frameworks

Possesses strong organisational skills in project management, communication, analytics and problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to translate complex scientific or technical issues into business success.

You will bring

Experience in organizational change, especially in driving organisational or process change within healthcare institutions

Time management and organisational skills to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities.

Leadership skills in a matrix environment and willingness to lead change.

Proficiency in engaging and influencing within a large organisation.

Strong multicultural awareness.

Your Location

The position can be based in Rotkreuz (Switzerland), or Indianapolis  (US).

Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 40%.
