JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree or equivalent work experience (at least 3 years of directly related experience) required.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in transportation and logistics preferred.
JOB DUTIES:
Create and manage logistics packets for the export team, including all necessary shipping and customs documentation.Confirm booking details against customer purchase orders to ensure accuracy and alignment with shipping instructions.Accurately enter international booking confirmation details into company system (Infor).Accurately enter international booking freight pricing into company system (Infor).Support all plant personnel with any shipping and receiving objectives, make improvements where needed, implement when necessary.Prepare and file Automated Export System (AES) documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations.Monitor and track rail shipments bound for Canada, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.Assist the logistics analyst with data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting of logistics-related issues as needed.Provide support to the logistics manager in coordinating logistics operations, managing shipments, and resolving any logistical issues.Assist in meetings with freight forwarders, NVOCC’s or drayage trucking representing company in a professional manner.Write and revise user guides as needed.Serve as back-up to others within logistics department. Cross-training provided.Attend educational classes to improve knowledge of new or improved information available regarding customer service, logistics and/or general knowledge.All other duties assigned by the Logistics Manager.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent proof reading, detailed and organizational skills are required.Knowledge of computer hardware and a variety of software packages (Microsoft Office, Infor, Adobe Pro PDF, Power Apps).Knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and Automated Export System (AES).Ability to learn the products manufactured by LGI companies and communicates accurate information regarding those products.Ability to learn terminology used in the transportation, import & export industries, and use them in the correct situation when applicable. Ability to maintain corporate confidential information, as well as customer confidential information. Ability to effectively interpret and convey written and verbal communications.Ability to operate required office equipment (calculator, computer, copier, etc.). Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity.Ability to work daily and extended hours as needed.Must be willing to change and learn new methods of organization. Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to assist in other work-related areas as required. Ability to courteously answer the telephone in a calm and professional manner.Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.Ability to effectively communicate with customers, shipping companies, and co-workers.Ability to assist other staff members with special or ongoing projects as directed by the Logistics Manager.BASIC MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
