About the role
The International Market Manager will be dynamic, energetic, and target-driven to support student recruitment activities for our US & Canadian partners based in Colombia. Reporting directly to Head US Student Recruitment, they will have a good understanding of international recruitment within the education sector and will be able to demonstrate an awareness of at least one major market, preferably in North America. The International Market Manager will have excellent organisational skills and will be a self-starter with experience of working internationally.
Your key responsibilities will involve
Taking part in exhibitions and student recruitment events; and organizing materials and logistics as required
Assessing events for ROI to decide on best use of resources
Managing agent relationships, with an emphasis on training and support to ensure high loyalty and best performance
Gaining competitive advantage through service and support to agents
Being the main point of contact for agents and responding to their enquiries in an efficient and effective manner always within internal SLA’s.
Establish partnerships and maintain strong connections with schools, colleges, universities, and other stakeholders to enhance recruitment efforts.
Counselling students (face-to-face, over phone/Zoom, etc)
Identifying opportunities and delivering effective marketing solutions
Maintaining excellent relations with both internal and external stakeholders
Monitoring competitor developments and market trends
Providing promotional and logistical support to Kaplan International Pathways overseas staff and university partners as required for incoming visits
Other duties as assigned by the line manager
Candidate profile
The successful candidate will be results-oriented, holding established strong relations with both internal and external stakeholders in Colombia and neighbouring countries. A customer-focused approach is key, as is the ability to provide excellent advice and guidance to prospective students and agents. Flexible in approach to working is essential, as there will be a need to work weekends and evenings when required for student recruitment events and activities.
The ideal candidate will have
Background in international education sales or marketing within Colombia and Latin America
Understanding of agent and school networks in Colombia.
University education
Fluency in English and Spanish
The ability to communicate well (both written and spoken) with range of audiences.
Goal-driven and results-oriented approach.
A positive outlook with a creative approach to problem solving
Strong organisational and planning skills
The ability to work under pressure and on deadlines to meet challenging targets.
Experience travelling and willingness to travel independently throughout Colombia and neighbouring countries.
Flexibility with working hours, including working over weekends when required.
To be IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience of customer relationship management software (particularly Salesforce)
An appreciation of different cultures and working styles.
Desirable skills are
A proven track record of delivering successful international student recruitment campaigns, preferably with a U.S. education.
Knowledge of the education systems in North America and current educational trends.
An understanding of visa regulations and market trends in international higher education
