International Operations Manager

The Manager, International Operations is responsible for managing operational processes and ensuring Lineage’s shipments comply with the rules and regulations of the international trade. The Manager, International Operations is also responsible for collabortating with other department and outside vendors to ensure proper execution of trade. This position will lead the daily operation and coordination of ocean freight operations including supervising staff, maintaining customer accounts, negotiating rates with carriers, handling accounting, dealing with export and import regulations, handling claims and disputes, and ensuring smooth operations.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the day-to-day import/export/Foreign to Foreign activities to ensure problem shipments are addressed with customers, partners, international customs agencies, and/or carriers.Leads a team of Logistics Specialists or Coordinators to meet or exceed customer delivery schedule through the coordination for shipments via ocean, air, truck to meet delivery dates.Continuously reviews and analyzes current transportation and day-to-day processes for opportunities to improve quality and services; Proposes improvement projects.Maintains compliance with all import/export and industry regulations.Frequently interacts with team, outside customers, and/or functional peer groups at various management levels.Conducts presentations/training of technical information concerning specific compliance topics, specific projects, TMS System etc.Manages operational reporting / exception reporting to ensure timely and accurate processing, issue resolution and timely submission of all customs activities.Drives Innovation – Formulates innovative ideas and approaches to processes, systems or services; seeks and implements opportunities to improve, streamline or re-invent work processes; tries different and creative ways to deal with issues and opportunities.Delivers Flawless Execution – Actively manages work to ensure the right time and right price for all operations services; demonstrates passion for delivering superior results; strives to continuously improve processes, systems or services.Builds Value-Based Relationships – Identifies and cultivates internal and external alliances that lead to successful outcomes for the organization and its customers and suppliers; positions the organization for future success by identifying new opportunities through relationships.Envisions and Creates the Future - Creates a clear vision of the future of the organization; Creates line of sight between personal work and organizational outcomes.Inspires Leadership - Builds for the future of the organization by developing, modeling and executing a people strategy to support the strategic vision of the organization while inspiring commitment to him or herself and the organization and setting an example for personal and organizational leadershipUnderstands essential rules and statements of the Federal Maritime Commission related to OTI business, NVOCC, and Freight Forwarding industry.Maintains and develops metrics, operations, and financial reports, process documentation, or customer service logs.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum and combination of 5 years of import/export experience in the field of International Operations (NVOCC)  and a minimum of 2 years of verifiable leadership experienceBachelor’s degree in transportation, international business, supply chain or related fieldStrong knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations, foreign customs requirements, letters of credit, free trade agreements, and international shipping requirementsExtensive knowledge of applicable international regulations, policies, and proceduresKnowledge of the Global Transportation and Distribution IndustryKnowledge and strong experience managing global carriersKnowledge and expertise in contract management in support of global transportation agreementsStrong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical skillsStrong negotiation skills to assist in optimizing transportation networks and negotiating optimum service and price agreements for Trailer bridge InternationalStrong planning/program management skills with forecasting capabilitiesAbility to lead and direct multi-functional teamsAbility to work in high stress situationsAbility to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlinesTeamwork and communication skills in a multicultural and multi-divisional environment are requiredProficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and Power PointCargoWise experience preferredDemonstrates commitment to the organization's Mission, Vision and Values

Pay Range:$90,750.00 - $163,350.00
