The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) International Outreach Specialist is responsible for assisting the WWP Alumni program’s efforts to provide support, networking opportunities, and education to new and existing warriors and their families in Europe, at military treatment facilities (MTFs), on military installations, and within local communities. The International Outreach Specialist serves as a liaison between WWP, medical support personnel, military commands, and partner or third-party organizations. The International Outreach Specialist provides local oversight for WWP international operations, logistical support, and mission integration.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Connect, serve, and empower alumni, family support members, and teammate(s) in Europe.
Provide local, on-the-ground supervision of WWP European operations, logistics, and program integration.
Act as the local WWP point of contact for military commands in Europe as necessary.
Manage and build partnerships with medical support personnel at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), European Regional Medical Command (ERMC), and other foreign locations as may be necessary.
Assist the Regional Director in developing long- and short-term plans for WWP outreach engagement programming and military command resiliency events, ensuring alignment with the WWP mission.
Manage the American Red Cross (ARC) relationship and coordinate with ARC personnel to provide programming and support for alumni, family support members, and military medical personnel and commands, as outlined in the WWP-ARC Partnership Agreement.
Support and register eligible wounded warriors medically evacuated through LRMC with WWP and assist WWP teammate(s) in the distribution of comfort items to those warriors.
Work directly with wounded warriors and their family members to assist with the recovery and transition process.
Actively plan, coordinate, recruit, and execute opportunities for networking, camaraderie building, and family bonding for WWP Alumni and their family members living in Europe.
Develop and facilitate virtual programming content via Zoom, MS Teams, Facebook Live, and other technology-based platforms.
Identify warriors and family members in Europe who have not yet connected with WWP, introduce them to WWP’s programs and services, and grow the Alumni international database.
Regularly communicate, network, mentor, and outreach to WWP Alumni and their family members in Europe as a designated WWP representative, and refer them to appropriate WWP programs staff, and other organizations as resources.
Support WWP by acting as a representative at events and speaking on behalf of WWP.
Maintain regular communication with the Alumni program chain of command.
Post timely updates to all WWP electronic tracking systems, specifically the warrior database (Salesforce).
Provide support for and coordinate with WWP teammates operating in overseas locations.
Assist the Regional Director and WWP teammate(s) in overseeing logistics and inventory of patient gear and Transitional Care Packs.
Assist the Regional Director in managing assigned budgets by applying expense controls and seeking opportunities for Gift in Kind and discounts.
Contribute to other WWP programs by assisting in the planning, logistical coordination, and execution of events and connection opportunities in Europe.
Provide crisis intervention to veterans and family members in emotional distress using WWP intervention practices and referrals.

EXPERIENCE
Requirements
Two years of experience in a volunteer role, or developing and building relationships with military families, organizations, or members of the community.
Preferences
Three years of experience in relationship-building with military organizations, veterans' associations, and other targeted constituents.
Two years of experience with military treatment facilities/VA facilities or with the military medical separation/retirement process.
Two years of experience using Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Outlook).
One year of experience in event planning.
EDUCATION
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Requirements
Valid state-issued driver’s license.
Current, valid Command Sponsorship and Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) status.
Current, valid military ID card with authorized access to military installations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Participation in physically demanding activities and events, both indoors and outdoors, under varying weather conditions.
May require lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
Up to 25% travel.
