As a Client Risk Lead - Executive Director in the International Private Bank Asia team, you will oversee and challenge the bank's investment strategies and fiduciary activities. Your responsibilities include assessing client and product suitability, managing regulatory and compliance engagements, and addressing material risk exposures promptly. You will align risk management practices with the broader business strategy, spearhead innovation, and foster a culture of integrity and excellence. Based in Hong Kong, you will support both the Singapore and Hong Kong offices.
Job responsibilities
Provide independent oversight and guidance on investment strategies and activities Assess client and product suitability and oversee the onboarding of new investment products Oversee fiduciary activities, including discretionary investment business and advisory activities Manage regulatory, audit, and compliance engagements impacting investment and fiduciary risks Escalate significant issues and ensure prompt action on material risk exposures Align risk management practices with the broader business strategy Promote innovation in risk management processes and practices Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and present a unified front Cultivate a culture of integrity, learning, and continuous improvement Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices Challenge the status quo and initiate change in risk managementRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor's degree Minimum 10 years’ experience in Private Banking or other Risk Management capacities, Consulting, or Compliance Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Inquisitive and comfortable in challenging current practices Detail-focused with an emphasis on strong controls Confidence to take ideas forward and to challenge others, where appropriate Lateral thinker, tenacious, with a commitment to getting things done and improving processes Team player and Leader with exceptional ambition, creativity, and interpersonal skillsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledge of Singapore and Hong Kong private banking/wealth management regulations, especially Suitability, investment products would be preferred Self-starter with a desire to proactively propel the team’s agenda and lead discussions with the Front Office and other stakeholders Experience in managing cross-functional teams Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills Ability to influence and empower others Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment
