You'll join the Training Services team, responsible for creating technical documentation and training videos for Eyefinity.
As the Technical Content Writing Intern, you'll have the unique opportunity to partner with Technical Content experts and support a dynamic team across its primary functions. You’ll have the unique opportunity to gain a broad range of experience in the many elements that contribute to the daily operations of a multi-faceted enterprise and develop critical business competencies through various tasks. During this internship, you may assist with the following duties:
The intern will work directly with the technical content writing team and support the project in the following areas:
Research: Investigating industry terminology and language, including gathering information from both internal stakeholders (e.g., subject matter experts, product managers) and external sources (e.g., customer interviews, surveys, industry literature).
Analysis: Evaluating the context in which terms are used across various documentation, ensuring consistency and clarity in their application.
Writing & Organization: Drafting clear, concise, and accurate definitions for terms in the glossary and assisting with the documentation of the style guide.
Collaboration: Engaging with cross-functional teams to ensure the glossary aligns with the company's overall language standards and customer needs.
Tool Usage: Using MadCap Flare to organize and implement the glossary, gaining valuable experience in this professional tool used in technical content creation.
Preferred Skills:
Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity and accuracy.
Ability to conduct research and synthesize information from multiple sources.
Organizational skills to manage a comprehensive glossary and style guide.
Interest in technical writing and the optometric industry (a plus).
Familiarity with content management tools, preferably MadCap Flare (or a willingness to learn).
Qualities of the ideal candidate:
Basic understanding of technical concepts (e.g., software, hardware, engineering, IT) and ability to communicate them to a non-technical audience
Attention to detail in grammar, spelling, and consistency of content
Ability to research complex topics and simplify them for varied audiences
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML/CSS for content formatting
Curiosity and willingness to learn about new technologies and processes
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple writing projects simultaneously
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams
Desire to improve and refine writing skills through feedback and mentorship
Job-Related Requirements:

Technology will be provided
Education Level: 3rd/4th year.
Degree Target: English or other Technical Communication degree
Program Dates: June 2nd to Aug 8th (You must be able to work the full 10 weeks)

Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Salary Ranges: $26.50 - $36.50
