Eaton’s EPG CPD PCD Power Components Division division is currently seeking an Engineering Intern. The hourly rate for this position is $27-$37 per hour. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** **Essential Responsibilities:** • Provide engineering support to the Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) product line engineering department on PLS activities. • Understand MCCB product line along with its key functions and performance requirements. Learn Critical to Quality (CTQ) design requirements and basic principles of circuit breaker design including thermal analysis, arc interruption, mechanism kinematics, components stress, product reliability studies, life cycle testing, and applicable testing standards. • Utilize engineering tools (computer simulation, CAD, statistics, etc.), conduct measurements, perform various tests & experiments, and report results in effort to evaluate and validate product concepts and designs. • Perform measurements and statistical validation of current product to establish a baseline to assess potential design changes intended for cost-reduction, quality & reliability improvements, and increased design robustness. • Statistically establish critical to quality (CTQ) criteria, including strength requirements for molded components of various circuit breakers. Perform measurement systems analyses (MSAs) to qualify equipment for use in checking important quality characteristics of circuit breakers and components. • Collaborate and communicate on projects with cross-functional teams, which include global design centers, tests labs, technicians, project management, industrialization, supply chain, and quality. • Additional Notes about Location • Eaton's Beaver Pennsylvania location • PCD Low Voltage Engineering is a leader in Low Voltage Industrial Circuit Breakers sized for 100 to 6300 Amperes, 1500V and below. We manage the Global Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) and Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) product lines manufactured in Americas, Europe, and China, including accessories for safety, interlocking and remote operation. The ACB and MCCB product lines are critical for Eaton’s success in the global industrial power distribution market. **Qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** • Actively enrolled in or received a bachelor’s degree program in engineering at an accredited institution. • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please do not round). • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship. • Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Beaver, PA. **Preferred Qualifications:** • Coursework in mechanical, electrical, industrial or computer engineering preferred. • Experience with engineering software (Creo, AutoCAD, MATLAB). • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. • Ability to multi-task. • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community.
