JOB SUMMARY:
The Social Media Intern for Internal Communications will play a crucial role in promoting recruitment efforts, Team Member engagement/retention/recognition, and company reputation. They will help manage and create content for LinkedIn (Universal Orlando Resort), Instagram (@UOTMLife), and Facebook (Universal Orlando Careers), specifically targeting current Team Members and potential Team Members. In addition to creating content (photography, videography, editing, copywriting), they will gain experience in analytics, social media strategy, and community management. They will play a role in contributing to the overall editorial execution of high quality and rich written/visual storytelling with a focus on the internal Team Member brand. The Intern also provides administrative support to the Internal Communications team and should expect to develop or gain exposure to the following skills: organization, communication, project management, client management, creativity, writing, content creation, and graphic design.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Develops engaging content for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, aligning with the respective platforms' best practices and the company's brand guidelines.
+ Research Team Member and company stories. Proposes content ideas. Organizes content shoots, including capturing both still and video assets, interviewing Team Members, writing social media captions, editing videos, and gaining approval on projects.
+ Creates visually appealing graphics and videos using design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to enhance content.
+ Tracks and analyzes social media metrics (e.g., reach, engagement, conversions) using tools like Sprinklr and social media platform/native analytics and prepares regular reports on social media performance, identifying key trends and insights.
+ Proposes recommendations for optimizing social media strategies based on data analysis.
+ Assists in planning and executing social media content, events, and initiatives.
+ Coordinates with internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Talent Acquisition, Corporate Communications, Team Member Experiences, Food & Beverage, etc.) to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
+ Creates and maintains a social media content calendar, scheduling posts and ensuring consistency across platforms.
+ Maintains up to date with social media trends, best practices, and platform updates.
+ Spend a significant portion of the day researching, writing, and editing content for different platforms. Organizing, updating, routing, and distributing social media content.
+ Attends regular meetings to discuss strategy, project updates, and collaborate on initiatives.
+ Updates and maintain the content calendar, ensuring timely posting and alignment with company goals.
+ Contributes to ongoing projects, such as campaign planning, event coordination, or content creation initiatives. Scheduling appointments and meetings. Project managing request intake form, including organizing and assigning tasks.
+ Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
+ Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
+ A transcript is required upon application.
+ Preferred majors include: Public relations, English, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Telecommunications, Journalism, or similar.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
+ Familiarity with video editing, including use of editing and graphics software.
+ Knowledge of photography and graphic design.
+ Experience with short-form copywriting.
+ Experience using Adobe Suite, Canva, Airtable, Sprinklr, or comparable social media tools.

+ This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
+ Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2026.
+ Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
+ All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
