Location/Division Specific Information
We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen, currently with about 500 employees, whose “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.

A day in the Life:
Develop Python-based software interfaces to control analytical instruments and process data.Work with communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, USB) to enable seamless interaction between systems.Implement and test simple machine learning models for tasks such as optimization, anomaly detection, or predictive maintenance.Craft and improve user-friendly tools, such as GUIs and script generators, to elevate system usability.Troubleshoot and debug software and hardware integration challenges.Collaborate with supervisors and team members to achieve project goals.Required Skills and Qualifications
Programming Proficiency: Strong skills in Python, including experience with libraries for networking (e.g., socket) and machine learning (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).Data Handling: Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming methods.Communication Protocols: Understanding of basic protocols such as TCP/IP or USB.Machine Learning Fundamentals: Ability to implement and train simple machine learning models; experience in anomaly detection or optimization is a plus.Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and the ability to translate technical documentation into practical implementations.Communication and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical ideas clearly.
