RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ADVANCEMENT DEPARTMENT:\n
The Communications Department provides fundraising, business development, and communications functions for Spurwink. Their work includes increasing support for Spurwink from individuals, corporations, and foundations; identifying opportunities for agency growth; managing the agency's social media presence, including creating posts and tracking metrics; and overseeing all internal and external communications. In addition, the advancement department coordinates logistics for fundraising events and writes and submits grant applications and requests for proposals (RFP's) to private and public funders. \n
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:\n
As an intern, you will be able to assist the Advancement team with the diverse work of their department. You will meet weekly as a cohort to help form camaraderie, share experiences, and learn from knowledgeable Spurwink employees.\n
REQUIREMENTS:\n\nHybrid Position (2 days in office\/ 2 days working from home)\nProgram Duration: 10 weeks (June 2nd - August 8th)\n4 days a week (8 hours per day)\nAbility to commute to the Greater Portland area two days a week.\nHave an interest in Communications & Marketing.\nExperience with Microsoft 365.\nCreate a capstone project sharing educational goals, skills learned, and your experiences.\nAttend a weekly reflection session with a cohort of interns.\nAttend a weekly meeting with a supervisor.\n\n
QUALIFICATIONS: \n\nCandidates must exhibit enthusiasm for the work in the department and the mission of Spurwink Services.\nMust have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and critical thinking skills.\n\n
