RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT:\n
The Human Resources and Professional Development department's diverse responsibilities include employee relations, recruitment, training, benefits, compensation, health, and safety. Human Resource employees collect, review, and process pre-employment paperwork; conduct background screenings; create and maintain employee personnel records; and help develop content for Spurwink's internal communications. In addition, HR employees attend recruitment events throughout the year to attract talent for their organization.\n
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:\n
As an intern, you will be able to assist the Human Resources team with the diverse work of their department. You will meet weekly as a cohort to help form camaraderie, share experiences, and learn from knowledgeable Spurwink employees.\n
REQUIREMENTS:\n\nHybrid Position (2 days in office\/ 2 days working from home)\nProgram Duration: 10 weeks (June 2nd - August 8th)\n4 days a week (8 hours per day)\nAbility to commute to the Greater Portland area two days a week.\nHave an interest in Human Resources.\nExperience with Microsoft 365.\nCreate a capstone project sharing educational goals, skills learned, and your experiences.\nAttend a weekly reflection session with a cohort of interns.\nAttend a weekly meeting with a supervisor.\n\n
QUALIFICATIONS: \n\nCandidates must exhibit enthusiasm for the work in the department and the mission of Spurwink Services.\nMust have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and critical thinking skills.\n\n
