Internship - Rare Endocrine Disorders Marketing

About the Department

The Strategy & Rare Disease (STARS) organization drives the long-term strategic direction of Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI)/North America Operations (NAO) and leads all US commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease portfolio. The mandate of STARS is to facilitate the development and to coordinate the execution of the long-term strategy, defining a sustainable business model in US beyond a 5-year time horizon. This department serves as the insiders of the US market when informing and help shaping upstream decisions around future investments and assets. The Rare Disease portfolio includes products in the hemophilia and growth disorders therapeutic areas, new products in the pipeline, and products acquired through business development efforts in existing and new areas. The STARS team collaborates and partners with groups across NAO, Research & Early Development, Development, innovation hubs across NN, other affiliates, and global. The Program

At Novo Nordisk, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience.   For ten weeks, interns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work.  Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and a guided mentorship program to offer professional and personal development. 

 

In addition to individual department responsibilities, interns will also participate in the program’s capstone event, the Innovation in Action Case Competition.  Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative and comprehensive solution to a business problem currently facing Novo Nordisk.  At the conclusion of the program, teams will present their findings to a board of top Novo Nordisk officials representing the various lines of business.

 

Program Start: June 2nd, 2025

Program End: August 8th, 2025

 

 

Scope of Position

The Rare Endocrine Disorders Marketing Intern will be working with the rare endocrine disorders marketing team on day-to-day business processes and will also get the opportunity to drive their own projects. The intern will learn and collaborate with all department channels, including patient, healthcare provider and digital marketing.

 

Key tasks may include but are not limited to updating and developing marketing materials, digital & social media content, assisting with the planning and execution of the MAGIC convention, as well as supporting various marketing projects. Other responsibilities may include gaining insights from our field sales teams through one-on-one interviews or surveys. The intern will gain hands-on experience through attending cross-functional meetings including tactical planning workshops and learn about our internal peer review board to understand how material approvals work.

Qualifications

Must be a current student enrolled or recently graduated (graduation date no earlier than May 2025) at/from an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree. A completed or in progress undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree in Marketing, International Business, Communications, or a related discipline preferred. Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail. Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task. Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers. Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn. Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
